"The Costs of Working With the Americans in Afghanistan: the United States' Broken Special Immigrant Visa Program"
This webinar highlights a Costs of War study that seeks to elevate the actual stories of Afghans seeking to immigrate to the United States who worked as interpreters and in other jobs for the U.S. military, and the reality that they are more often harmed than helped by the broken Special Immigrant Visa (SIV) Program. The SIV Program was designed to help Afghans and Iraqis in danger as a result of their service to the U.S. government, yet this report finds that it fails to properly support those who need it most. This briefing webinar on the study features the report's lead researcher Noah Coburn, and is moderated by the Costs of War Project's Co-Director Dr. Stephanie Savel
