Here’ a 3 minute film that I recorded in the home of Petr Vesely and Zdenka Maksimova Vesela in New Ross this evening at around 5.30pm. The chat focuses around the celebration of St. Nicholas’ Day (Dec 6th) which is celebrated all over mainland Europe. In recent decades it has been celebrated in Ireland with the arrival of people from various Eastern European countries, in this case the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Great to witness the differences and similarities within our European traditions and there are more cross-overs that we may think. Have a listen.
