This is a custom AWD Ford Falcon conversion that I have designed and built. It is based on a 2010 year model Australian manufactured Ford G6E Turbo. These were supplied by Ford Australia with a 4.0 Litre "Barra" straight six cylinder engine, in turbo and non-turbo variants and a 6 speed automatic and all are rear wheel drive from factory.
The custom AWD set-up necessitated replacing all the front suspension with non-standard components and a gear-driven transfer case made by New Process Gear (now Magna Powertrain) has been adapted to the rear of the factory ZF 6HP26 6-speed automatic gear box. The turbo is slightly larger than factory and is a Garrett GTX3582R. The engine is factory built and unopened, though external upgrades include 1000cc Bosch injectors and a larger intercooler to help support 455awkw. The front diff which is bolted to a modified front engine sump handles 38% of the drive torque with the remainder 62% going to the rear. I have used as many off the shelf components where I could but have modified numerous others to keep this vehicle looking and riding at factory height, but with the obvious benefit of much higher traction. This has transformed the car's grip and enables 0-100km/hr runs in the sub-to-low 3 second range, on street tyres.
