It is not easy for a country to recover from 27 year war ended on May 19th 2009. The war took 90,000 lives. We had devastating impact from Tsunami on 26th December 2004 destroying nearly another 100,000 lives. Another 100,000 people are disabled. The lost of properties are unbearable for a poor country like Sri Lanka. There are hundreds of thousands of people still displaced all over the country. All Sri Lankans; Sinhala, Tamil, Muslim, Burgher and Malay lived harmoniously until cruel terrorism started in 1983. Now war is over. The needs of the moment are reconciliation and rebuild Sri Lanka.
We see, we hear more and more sanctions, allegations, threats, intimidations from rich countries than their support to stand up and rebuild the nation. May this song inspire us and them to reunite and rebuild Sri Lanka!
