Returning the budget to surplus to continue investing in productive infrastructure and paying down debt have been high priorities in Sunshine Coast Council’s 2021/22 Budget. Creating a safer, secure future for our community as we seek to recover from the impacts of COVID-19.
Council's $816m million budget includes:
• $169m - roads, pathways and storm water assets
• $96m - waste management services and facilities
• $87m - parks, gardens and sporting facilities
• $54m - libraries, galleries, community facilities and lifeguards
• $67m - network planning, development services, local laws and property management
• $35m - environment, including conservation and clean energy
• $33m - economic initiatives, including major events, Caloundra aerodrome and holiday parks
• $7m - community events and grants
Including:
• No increase to minimum general rate, transport and heritage levies.
• 14% increase to pensioner rate concession; and a
• $18.8m positive operating result
