"Well, I think there''''s a direct link between the attack in Jerusalem today and the discussions in the International Court of Justice in The Hague because what the Palestinians, they want to maintain warfare against the people of Israel and at the same time neutralise our defensive measures by running to The Hague. Hopefully the justices will see through that strategy."

5. SOUNDBITE: (English) Saeb Erekat, Palestinian Cabinet minister:
"We condemn this attack and once again we urge the United States, and other members of the Quartet (USA, Russia, EU and UN) to exert every possible effort to revive the peace process and put it back on track. A meaningful peace process that will end the Israeli occupation is the only way to break this vicious cycle, is the only way to provide peace and security for all. Peace and security will not be derived through walls and through incursions and through assasination. It will only be attained through a meaningful peace process that will end the Israeli occupation and establish a Palestinian state next to the state of Israel."

STORYLINE:
The dead and injured have been arriving at hospital after a suicide bomber blew himself up on a crowded Jerusalem bus on Sunday morning, killing seven people and wounding more than 60, 11 of them seriously, police and rescue workers said.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack, which came just a day before the world court is to begin hearings on the West Bank separation wall Israel says is crucial for keeping out bombers.
Advisor to Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, Dore Gold, said there was a direct link between the attack in Jerusalem and the discussions in the International Court of Justice in The Hague.
He said the Palestinians wanted to maintain warfare against the Israelis while neutralising their defensive measures.
Israeli officials said the blast proved the need for the West Bank barrier, while the Palestinians say the wall amounts to a land grab because it dips deep into the West Bank, and disrupts the lives of tens of thousands of Palestinians.
Palestinian Cabinet minister Saeb Erekat said he condemned the attack and urged the international community "to exert every possible effort to revive the peace process and put it back on track."
