Undocumented immigrant youth and their allies describe the power of coming out publicly about their immigration status, and the Immigrant Youth Justice League they have organized to empower themselves, collect available resources, and advocate immigration reform.
On March 10, 2011, the IYJL staged its second Coming Out of the Shadows event in Chicago, where students declared themselves undocumented, unafraid, and unapologetic about pursuing their dreams in the only country they can call home.
