Being a Utah local the most common question I get asked is "What is the best ski resort for beginners"....well let me show you! Park City Mountain Resort is the best ski area for beginners and I'm telling you, you will want to buy a whole week of ski passes if you're visiting. It has a perfect section for true beginners and miles and miles of blue runs for those who are still not ready for the black diamond runs.
They do have lockers to store your stuff in the Canyons Village, a ski rental shop, and plenty of cafes. Parking is limited so try to take the rideshare and buses from the University of Utah to the Park City Area.
Park City is actually EAST of Salt Lake, not North - I'm directionally challenged on a good day, lol. HOWEVER - don't mess around with Parley's Canyon - give yourself time. There is a whole Facebook page dedicated to conditions in Parley's Canyon. If you are IN SLC it can take anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours to get through that canyon - more if there is an accident and they often shut the road down altogether. If it is a snowy day, then you are definitely going to have more locals flocking to the mountain as well which adds to the traffic time.

Hi! Welcome to the Culture Trekking Community! My name is Janiel Green, a Physician Assistant, Scuba Diver, Dog lover, Photographer, and Videographer! I love to make people smile, am known for not beating around the bush (unless it is in my garden). I also tend to say it as I see it before my brain can tell me its probably not socially acceptable to do so. My spirit animal is a Sea Turtle, I hate mushrooms, and don’t trust a man who lays on the romance too thick.
I love to travel the world, connect with different cultures, and find sustainable adventure. I have explored the most off-the-beaten-path places, and cultures throughout the world. This year I’m taking you along as I explore my hometown, UTAH! From Anasazi Ruins in Southern Utah to the High Uinta Mountains best waterfalls and camping locations.
With over a decade of professional photography experience, and a self-taught videographer and editor. I also want to teach you a few tricks of the trade to make better travel videos, and take better travel photos - even if you are a solo traveler.
