Qaimaq Chai | Sheer Chai | Afghani Pink Tea | Pink Tea | Kashmiri Chai | Kashmiri Pink Tea
INGREDIENTS:
Water - 18 cups
Green Tea - 2 cups
Baking Soda - 1/2 tbsp
Milk
Sugar to taste
Cardamom
For the Color:
- In a large pot add 18 cups of water and bring to boil.
- Add 2 cups of green tea and boil for 20 mins.
- Add 1/2 tbsp of baking soda and boil until the foam turns pink. Strain and discard the tea leaves.
- Add 2 cups of cold tap water in the pot and then start pouring the tea from one pot to the other. This should take about 15 mins or until you notice a nice pomegranate or purplish color.
To make the tea:
- In a pot add as much color as you need.
- Add milk (until it’s light pink) and cardamom. Boil and serve.
