Lactose intolerance in babies is when your baby can’t stand drinking milk. When a baby is lactose intolerant, his digestive system cannot produce the enzyme called lactase, which is responsible for digesting milk. Lactose intolerance symptoms in babies include rashes, bloating, stomach pain, etc. Though this condition in infants is rare, it can usually doesn’t appear before the age of two until after weaning. Some babies have lactose intolerance from birth, meaning they cannot even be fed their mother’s breastmilk and, instead, require specially-formulated lactose-free milk.
Milk is an important source of calcium, Vitamin D and other important nutrients vital for growth and well-being. If you believe your baby is lactose intolerant, you must not skip on nutrition and look for alternatives to complete your baby's nutritional demand.
