'지민 비행기' 띄운 중국 BTS 아미, 웨이보 계정 60일 정지... 이연걸•유역비도 퇴출 위기 “中 연예계 정풍운동 타깃은 외국 국적자”... 중국 당국 "전통 해치는 '예쁜 남자 아이돌' 단속한다"
China has been clamping down on its entertainment industry in the recent weeks,... punishing celebrity fan sites as well as reportedly adding non-Chinese celebrities to the blacklist.
The nation is also imposing stronger measures against idols who do not conform to the traditional beauty standards.
Choi Min-jung reports.
China's ongoing crackdown on its popular culture industry is stepping up day by day.
The country's biggest social media platform, Weibo, has punished BTS' Chinese fan site for crowdfunding to customize a plane to celebrate BTS' member, Jimin's birthday.
Weibo banned the fan club from posting for 60 days and deleted related posts,.. stating that the social media platform is strictly against the irrational support of celebrities.
The move is in line with the government's recent measures to clamp down on fandom culture by strengthening restrictions and discouraging fundraising activities related to fandom.
The government is taking aim at celebrities as well.
According to Taiwanese sources, around nine stars are on the country's blacklist.
This comes as sources say the broadcasting authorities are planning to place new restrictions on celebrities who have foreign citizenship.
On the unverified list is actor Jet Li, who holds Singaporean citizenship, and actress Liu Yifei, who has American citizenship.
The move comes following the removal of almost all references to China's well-known actress Zhao Wei.
China also called for a boycott of 'sissy idols'.
In another clean-up measure of the pop culture industry, authorities recently announced that they will establish a correct standard for beauty.
In doing so, male idols who wear make-up and do not conform to the Chinese 'macho' male stereotypes will be blocked from the industry.
Control over the entertainment sector has grown,... as excessive stardom and fandom is increasingly being regarded as a dangerous threat to the country's ideology.
