Rigor Mortis playing the tiny Headhunters club in Austin, Texas - February 13, 2011. This venue provides the perfect environment for an underground thrash metal show - in your face & loud! With the stage a mere foot off the floor, Bruce Corbitt stalks the limited space like a brain-hungry Romero zombie, while Mike Scaccia gives a virtual clinic on his Bigsby tremolo equipped Les Paul. Scaccia's unique speed-picking style is amazing to watch, his right hand moving with such velocity and precision that it literally becomes a blur. Rigor Mortis is currently celebrating its 25th year of existence and the band sounds fierce, invigorated, and ready to rip off some heads!
On a related side note, Billy Milano (yes, that Billy Milano) helps run the joint and also tweaks the soundboard to phenomenal results. As anyone who attends metal shows knows, getting a clear mix at high volume in a tiny space packed with bodies is not an easy task. Milano ensures that each instrument is clear and balanced without becoming muddy or overpowering. A true pro.
