Exercise Gauntlet Strike is held annually at the Puckapunyal Military Area and is led by the School of Armour. In 2022, the exercise was held between 20 - 30 June.
This exercise synchronises the final assessments for lieutenants on the Mechanised Regimental Officers Course (MROC), and Royal Australian Armoured Corps (RAAC) Regimental Officer Basic Course (ROBC) for tank and cavalry, to qualify them during a realistic, combined arms experience.
In addition to these trainees, the exercise also exposes officers on the Royal Australian Engineer (RAE) ROBC and Royal Australian Artillery (RAA) joint fires teams (JFT) to combined arms operations at the combat team level.
All four of the Combined Arms Training Centre’s (CATC) training establishments (School of Armour, School of Artillery, School of Infantry and the School of Military Engineering) were involved in the exercise.
