Sky News host Nicholas Reece says there is a “strong case” to be made for the extension of government assistance in some regions and for some sectors of the economy.
His comments come after Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk appealed to the federal government to provide further support for businesses, especially for the state’s struggling tourism industry.
“Every government in Australia has made mistakes during this crisis, this is happening live,” Mr Reece said.
“The point though is that we are all in this together.
“There is still a strong case for some regions and some sectors of the economy to continue to get some assistance so that we can all come out of this together."
