This apron is commonly use by: woodworkers, bike mechanics, jewelers, machinists, baristas, bartenders, gardeners, framers, leatherworkers, cordwainers, welders, and more.

Hey everyone it's Chris with ARTIFACT
and
in this video i'm going to briefly
discuss one of our more popular workshop
aprons our No. 325
y-strap apron like the one that I'm
wearing right now my personal apron
if you take a look at the back you'll
see why it is called a wire strap
I designed the straps to go over and
across your shoulders and connect here
so that it distributes the weight
across your shoulders makes it more
comfortable when you're wearing it all
day
especially when you have stuff in your
pockets the pockets of this apron
include
this breast pocket here you've got a
tool pocket I typically put my
eyeglasses in here
we have a divided pocket I'm carrying
It's my Starret six inch steel rule
I've got a sharpie pen and I've always
got a pencil of some sort
this one is a carpenter pencil it has a
pocket that goes all the way across the
bottom here
it's divided in the center and it's got
matching pockets on the side here for
tools or implements
and this pocket is rivet reinforced in
the corners
and in the center and it even has
a leather washer in the back to keep
that rivet from pulling out
this apron as I mentioned is my own
personal apron i've been wearing it for
about eight years
and it isn't a wax canvas wax canvas is
a unique material it's impregnated with
wax
and it's naturally water resistant it
develops a unique patina over time if
you can see
here that gets what I would describe is
like a leather-like appearance
as this burnishes against the surfaces
you're working
if you come up here you can see the
colors that we offer
our ARTIFACT y-strap apron in this one
is an olive
and this is what my apron would have
looked like eight years ago
when i started wearing it so if you can
see in the light here
there could be some variants do to dye
lot between these
but you can see how this darkens over
time and gets this kind of
protective layer so in addition to olive
we also carry wax canvas fly strap
aprons in this
slate blue and then we have this popular
rust brown as well
we also carry it in this Cone Mills
denim from North Carolina
it is an indigo dye denim it's about 13
ounces
so it's very similar in weight to the
wax canvas
and it breaks in really nice with use
so who wears an artifact y strap apron
most commonly it's going to be
woodworkers
jewelers gardeners but then you'll get
some people that we would consider
crossover wearers which would include
bartenders baristas even chefs
why I call them a crossover
workshop apron wearer is they could be
content with our chef style
aprons
but they want something a little bit
more substantial because this has a
different
look or stature to it but with
that
comes a little bit more care and
responsibility
wax canvas prefers to be hand washed it
doesn't like
laundry detergent because the detergents
will
break the wax canvas down so
you're going to want to use a mild soap
also
the apron the y-strap apron has a
fixed leather strap
notice how these are secured with a
hand hammered copper rivet
that it has secured the apron with so
the straps are not removable
and the leather does not like to go
through a machine wash cycle
so again you're left to hand wash
using a mild soap and air dry with these
but that being said they're a remarkable
apron for your workshop or studio
if you have any questions about the
aprons you can email us at info@artifactbags.com and I thank you for
