In this video we show you how to DIY install artificial turf. This project took us 5 days (after the site was already leveled).
Steps:
1) Level and prep your site. Install bender board border if necessary.
2) Lay, compact, and level decomposed granite.
3) Lay turf, gluing seams and nailing edges.
4) Infill with sand.
5) Enjoy!
Materials and Tools needed:
Enough turf to cover your project
Decomposed Granite (we used 2 tons for 450 square feet)
Infill sand (1lb per square foot of turf)
6 in galvanized nails, enough to nail 6 inches apart along all edges and seams
Weed cloth and weed cloth stakes (optional)
Bender board and accompanying stakes (optional)
Hammer
Razor blade with multiple replacement blades
Shovel or seed spreader
Compactor or hand tamper
