Outward Bound Australia partnered with The Qantas Foundation and ABCN to deliver the 'Outward and Upward' program in Tharwa, ACT.

Outward Bound partners with like-minded organisations who share our passion for inspiring the next generation of leaders.

This year we are excited to be running Outwards & Upwards, a seven day leadership summit sponsored by the Qantas Foundation and run in conjunction with the Australian Business Community Network (ABCN).

During the Summit students participate in a classic Outward Bound style wilderness expedition, with a particular focus on leadership, communication skills, basic project management, goals setting and more.

The program culminates in participants developing a community service project based on issues that they are passionate about, with Qantas staff volunteering as mentors to help the students implement their projects when they return to their communities.

A key aim of the Qantas Foundation is to provide experiences and opportunities that empower the next generation of Australians to make a difference in the community.

The Outwards & Upwards program is a great example of this, and 2014 is the biggest program yet, with 30 students from all over Australia participating.
