This is a very basic test bench that I set up in my office. It serves two purposes. First, as a background for the videos that I will be putting on YouTube. Second, because most of the content is technical in nature I need to have basic test equipment, hand tools and the ability to do basic repairs for demonstration purposes. However, it mirrors similar set ups that I've had at my desk at the last few companies I've worked for.
Mainly because I'm an "outside plant" / field technician I generally diagnose, test and repair/service equipment in the field and the tools that I use on a regular basis are in my service truck. When I do get devices on "the bench" that need to be tested it's typically because I need to isolate them (power, data, etc.), check functionality over time (data logging -- voltage and current), stress testing (check different temperature conditions, various loads, etc.) and repair individual components (bad transformers, resistors, caps, etc.). Which doesn't call for having thousands of dollars worth of duplicate test equipment.
This does not constitute a proper electronic, electrical, electromechanical, hydraulic, etc. testing/diagnostic repair bench. He's the man when it comes to electronic engineering, also I recommend that you subscribe to his channel!
