You want that lower back pain or sciatica to go away. Like most people you may not be familiar with non-surgical spinal decompression with the DRX9000. The majority of patients we treat with spinal decompression usually call the office as a last resort. They’ve “tried everything” and come to us because they feel out of options. This is the reality of the lower back treatment algorithm, although there are some that seek us out as the first option. The sooner we can treat your condition the sooner we can help you with relief. Here are the three most common conditions we treat and how DRX9000 treatment works to get these folks on the path to pain relief
Disc Injury. An injury to your lower back disc can cause back pain as well as sciatica (pain down the leg). During our consultation and evaluation, I spend time identifying which nerves are affected and which disc(s) are associated with your pain pattern. Disc injuries can only be confirmed by an MRI, so this test may be necessary. DRX9000 treatment creates a negative pressure within the disc, bringing the injured material back into place. Once the disc has been returned recovery can begin. This would include healing from the nerve pressure, from the secondary back pain and for the disc. Follow up treatments as well as exercises and stretches are recommended to encourage the disc and back to heal.
Chronic Back Pain. You may or may not experience sciatica with chronic back pain, rather back pain that has been felt for quite some time is considered chronic. The gentle linear decompression pull offered with the DRX9000 allows for a mild opening of the lower back joints which encourages the spine to align, the muscles to reset and encourage the back structures to heal. It’s a very soothing treatment that can be used for patients with painful, tight or sore chronically injured lower backs.
Arthritis in the Spine. It is important to understand that no treatment will reverse arthritis, but what the DRX9000 can do is alleviate the pain and possibly stop the arthritis from getting worse. Spinal degeneration is often unstable. The linear motion of the DRX9000 is one of the most painless and safest forms of mechanical low back treatment that offers relief.
All of these conditions usually include more than one pathology. These injuries usually involve some level of secondary soft tissue injury. These conditions treated with the DRX9000 do not exist in a vacuum. The muscles, ligaments and other structures are often times involved too, so a treatment plan needs to include the entirety of the injury, while not ignoring all the subtleties. Lower back injures are complex, when choosing to be treated with non-surgical spinal decompression, make sure you work with a doctor who focuses on the entire injury, not only what is found on an MRI. Diagnostic testing can lead the doctor in the right direction, but the evaluation is important for the complete injury picture.
