Flew across the Tasman sea to the top of the South Island of New Zealand - NELSON!
Our trip was on July 2020 and New Zealand has been lucky enough to have dealt with the pandemic awesomely. We are so grateful that we get to travel! Here's our roadie list for Nelson-Tasman region:
☀️ DAY 1: NELSON CITY AREA
- Arrived from the airport then headed straight to Melrose house for brunch
- Took the walk to the Geographical Centre of NZ lookout
- Drove to Founders Heritage Park
- Booked the longest flying fox in NZ at Cable Bay Adventure Park
- Sunset at Tahunanui Beach
- Dinner at Mamasan (such a cute place!)
❄️ DAY 2: NELSON LAKES NATIONAL PARK
- Roadtrip stop 1 at Tapawera
- Arrived at Nelson Lakes National Park - 1st lake: Lake Rotoiti
- Drove to Lake Rotoroa next
- Crossed the Longest Swingbridge in NZ at Buller Gorge
- Dinner at La Capilla Restaurant
Nelson lakes national park is so beautiful! Such a highlight of our trip.
🚗 DAY 3: ABEL TASMAN NATIONAL PARK
- Sunday markets at Motueka
- Roadtrip to Kaiteriteri beach ➡️ Marahau ➡️ Takaka town ➡️ Pohara beach
- Last stop at Te Waikoropupu Springs
- Night stroll at Mapua Wharf
🌻 DAY 4: NELSON TOWN
- Fed some animals at Natureland Zoo
- Christ Church Cathedral at Nelson Central
- Suter Art Gallery then to Miyazu Gardens
- Flew back to Auckland!
After the lockdown period, a quick domestic travel is such a blessing! Backing our backyard and supporting local for sure 💚
