Good morning everyone and welcome to today's UK weather forecast on Monday 27th February 2023.
Current Situation:
High pressure sits over and to the north of the UK and Ireland bringing us a chilly easterly wind.
Today:
Monday begins with a sharp frost across parts of Scotland, Northern Ireland, south Wales and south west England. Further east we're generally frost-free as there's quite a lot of cloud with a few light showers and a brisk easterly wind.
Through the rest of the day eastern regions will stay quite cloudy with more showers and some of these showers will push in central parts of the England through the day. Much of the north and west will stay dry with the best of any sunshine for northern and western Scotland. A chilly day with temperatures of 3C to 8C but feeling colder in the wind across the south and east.
Tonight:
Most places will have a dry night with showers mainly down the east coast. Quite a lot of cloud in the south and east while northern and western regions are clearer. Frost in the north and west and frost-free in the south and east. temperatures -3C to +3C.
Tomorrow
Cloud will thicken across southern and eastern regions with more showers pushing in from off the north sea. Some of the showers may turn wintry as they move inland especially over high ground such as North York Moors. Most northern and western regions will stay dry with the best of any sunny spells in the north west. Temperatures 3C to 8C but feeling colder in the wind in the south and east.
Outlook: .
Wednesday: Mostly dry with more in the way of sunny spells. Chilly.
Thursday: Mainly dry with plenty of sunshine. Chilly.
Friday: Another mainly dry day but colder in the north and east.
