Virginia Tech's ME 2004 course is formally called "Engineering Analysis Using Numerical Methods." In a nutshell, the course is about understanding complex engineering systems by breaking it down into smaller constituent parts. The first step in analyzing any system is to understand its underlying physics. Everything abides by the laws of nature, which we can leverage to (qualitatively) intuit the system's behavior. This video expounds on this powerful concept. Understanding the physical processes and various mathematical models is the foundation of this course.
