CINCINNATI (WKRC) - A federal judge sentenced a New Richmond man to 85 years in prison for creating obscene images of child sexual abuse that he believed was art.
David Guy, 61, was also convicted of a count of attempted production of child pornography, receipt of child pornography and possession of child pornography. Guy used Photoshop to create hundreds of images using faces from 11 children. He'd place them on to the images of very graphic adult and child pornography. He also took a picture of one child, posing her on her hands and knees and exposing her bottom.
Guy claimed the more than 25,000 child porn images he had were inspiration for his art. He also claimed that the government was to blame for trying to censor his work.
"David Guy sought to escape responsibility for his horrific crimes against children by characterizing as 'art' the images of children that he produced," Acting U.S. Attorney Glassman said. "It is not art. It is the opposite of art. It is a horrible crime -- one that David Guy committed over and over, without remorse. Although the harm from Guy's crimes can never be undone, at least the community will be from safe from him committing anymore for the next 85 years."
