Presented as part of EARTH RISING Festival 2023, renowned scientist and ecofeminist Dr. Vandana Shiva presents a talk on the creativity and power of women and nature, and sowing the seeds of a liveable future for all.
In this pre-recorded keynote presentation hosted by IMMA director Annie Fletcher, Dr. Shiva discusses Ecofeminism-epistemology, -democracy and -economics as the basis of Earth Democracy, of Earth Rising and Women Rising.
Dr. Vandana Shiva is trained as a Physicist and did her Ph.D. on the subject “Hidden Variables and Non-locality in Quantum Theory” from the University of Western Ontario in Canada. She later shifted to inter-disciplinary research in science, technology and environmental policy, which she carried out at the Indian Institute of Science and the Indian Institute of Management in Bangalore.
