This is the second piece, recorded live, as part of my continuing online 'Tributes to Donald' (Bousted) series. Gilbert Isbin is a composer with whom Donald Bousted collaborated a lot with his Classical Ukulele project. My heartfelt thanks to Gilbert!
All the 'Tributes to Donald' pay tribute to the composer, the film maker, the producer, the guitarist, the ukulele player, but most of all, our friend, and colleague, who was taken from us too early in December 2021.

Program Note:
The tombeau (French for ‘tomb’ or ‘tombstone’) that had its heyday in the 17th Century, was originally intended to commemorate an important person or fellow musician. Such a person was Donald for sure. Apart from his interests in contemporary music, Donald was also very interested in early music- we shared this attitude towards music very much. This is my hommage, my tombeau, for this brilliant musician and composer, and warm, great person: a contemporary sounding composition with links to the past. (G.I.)
