I meet up with my brother Brian & dad Jason at their house and we head to the ramp where Jay is waiting to come aboard for his first trip on the REEL LINE. We start the day unloading our 29' Ocean Runner center console at the 14th street boat ramp in Pompano Beach, Florida. Then we meet up with our friend and tournament fishing teammate Eric to grab some bait before we travel north to our first spot around Lake Worth inlet. I was able to capture the sun rising on camera it might be hard to tell! On the first slow troll over our first spot we only nabbed one small kingfish right around the 8 pound range and decided to pack up and move further north and start our troll just off Juno heading towards Jupiter. That is when we find more Kings in the 10 & 20 pound range. After getting 3 kings in the boat we decided to switch fishing styles and moved to deep drop off a spot we found on our CMOR mapping and on our first drop within moments we were hooked and caught what we believe was a cookie cutter shark? Shortly after that we were hooked to something massive and fought it for awhile before it finally broke the hook off sadly. Thats fishing!!! Will be uploading an Islamorada style King Mackerel recipe i found that will make you rethink the stereotype of Kingfish are trash fish !
