"Americana" is a term whose definition keeps evolving. How do artists develop strong, innovative voices while maintaining a connection to this tradition-minded genre? This panel convenes two multiple Americana award nominees and their teams to discuss how they have shaped and maintained their careers making roots-aware, future-thinking music. Topics to be explored include marketing and business strategy, touring, relationships with radio and new media, and finding oneself with in an artistic community.

Started in 1987, South by Southwest (SXSW) is a set of film, interactive, and music festivals and conferences that take place early each year in mid-March in Austin, Texas.
