Completed the budget superturbo build on my 1987 Mercedes 300D, euro-spec japan import
I used 6mm pump elements calibrated @90cc, euro exhaust manifold & a used Holset Hy35 (7cm exh), Plumbed in a 3" intercooler up-front, with 2.5" tubes & hoses.
Makes boost down in mid-lower rpm, good drivability. Lots of torque when you mash the throttle though. If you want a perfect streetable daily, I would go with a smaller turbo in retrospect. Like HX30, HE221, etc.
Stock 722.3 transmission with increased modulator pressure for firmer shifts. For 1.5 years it handled the power, until the car got totalled with the next owner..
