Over 7 billion people have been impacted by a perfect storm of shocks: the COVID-19 pandemic, the climate crisis, and food, energy and human insecurity. Humanity is using resources at a rate that needs 1.75 Earths to sustain.
India’s Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has urged people to adopt a more sustainable 'LiFE' (Lifestyles for Environment) of mindful utilisation, instead of mindless consumption. Shuva Raha, Head of New Initiatives at the Council on Energy, Environment and Water (CEEW), India's leading policy think tank, tells ‘The India Story’ of a virtuous cycle of transformative initiatives bringing sustainable development to citizens. Shuva leads CEEW’s strategic initiatives related to the geopolitics of energy – access, security, and justice; the low-carbon transition of core industrial sectors and transportation; circular economies of resources; and the global imperative for sustainable living amidst economic transformations. Her work includes policy advisory to governments, multilateral institutions, industry, and investors, and taking ‘The India Story’ global. Shuva has over 22 years of experience in public policy, branding, corporate operations, and project management. She manages her family's philanthropic initiative to support the education of underprivileged students through the Subir Raha Memorial Scholarship. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at [ Ссылка ]
