When you hear about Maldives, you all think of white sand beaches, bluest waters, resorts, and honeymoons. But Maldives is more than that - local experiences, interaction with marine wildlife, and lifetime memories from a tropical wonderland.
You do not need a honeymoon to be in the Maldives because the Maldives is more than just about all-inclusive resorts and super expensive lifestyles.
A few years ago, local islands opened for tourism, meaning guest houses and simple hotels are available for you to enjoy a piece of pure paradise. Budge traveling is definitely an option now - but "budget" for the Maldives means $100-150 per day is easy to spend here, especially if you are moving too often from island to island. Still, it is more budget-friendly than $500-2500 resorts per night.
The last week has been super special here, with the spectacular colors of the ocean, the opportunity to swim with sharks and turtles, and seeing plankton light up the water during the night. Also, it is an opportunity to taste the island life to see how locals live here while keeping their religious values and creating opportunities for foreigners to enjoy the sand islands that corals built up in the middle of the Indian Ocean.
Would you like to visit the Maldives?
