Melbourne's GPO will be shining a whole new light on Melbourne. To celebrate the recent restoration works, beams of coloured light will be projected on the building to highlight it's majestic architectural features. The stunning stonework will be illuminated at each day after sundown.
Hundreds of lamps originally lit up MGPO in the 1950s. This time around, it will feature 2,900 LEDs, which will run on a fraction of the power. The permanent, green-friendly project will use around 725 watts in its entirety. This is less energy than it takes to power 15 household downlights.
