Hong Kong is set to hold its Legislative Council elections this Sunday (Dec 19). The poll had been postponed 15 months ago due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The LegCo's key role is to debate the policies, laws and budgets put forward by the government. Even though mainstream opposition parties have decided to sit out of the polls, about a dozen centrists and independent candidates are running to take on the pro-establishment parties.
