Thousands of supporters of Indonesian opposition leader Megawati Sukarnoputri staged rallies in several major cities on Tuesday (7/1), including Jakarta, demanding the government accept her parliamentary candidates list.
Almost 400 protesters, dressed in the red and black of the Indonesian Democracy Party (PDI), stood outside the National Election Institute (LPU) building in Jakarta waving banners and shouting "Long live Megawati."
