The largest statue of Christ in Central Europe, third copy of Rio de Janeiro can be found in small city Klin (Orava) in North Slovakia. The 9.5 meters tall statue of the Christ stands on top of the hill Grapa at an altitude of 686 meters. The span of hands is 7 meters and the weight of the pedestal is 23 tons.
It was craved by local artist Peter Ganobjak and it stands there from 2008. It started with the statue, but it expanded with a Chapel and few more statues. One is them is statue of pope.
The views from the top of the hill are amazing. You can see the villages around, but also the leg Oravská Priehrada and the high and small mountains of Tatras. On the way up you can see the calvary.
