Quite often, the baselines defined in roadway corridors represent the centerline of the road. In fact, the default coding on Civil 3D’s lane subassembly follows this trend. When modeling larger roadway designs however, additional baselines may be required at locations such as curb returns, medians or lane edges. Fortunately, Civil 3D’s lane subassembly provides multiple point code options to ensure common feature lines (Crown, ETW, Lane) are drawn at the correct locations no matter which baseline is being followed. In this session, we’ll learn how to adjust these point codes such that we can control the type and location of the feature lines that make up a corridor model.
