What’s all of this about and what’s this Celebration for?

Christmas celebrates birth of Jesus Christ and comes to life with music, lights and festive decorations.

The exact date of Jesus Christ’ birth is actually unknown. But the first recorded Date of Christmas being celebrated on 25th December was year 336.

Not all of us celebrate Christmas on 25th of December, many Orthodox and Coptic churches celebrate Christmas on 7th January according to Julian calendar. That’s the date when the 25th December would have been on the Julian calendar.

Christmas is a time of joy, happiness, peace, sharing and giving.
Christmas symbols include:

Angels, Bells, Christmas trees, Star, Candy Canes, Mistletoe, Holly, Lights Doves, Santas, Reindeers and many more.

We kids think of candy cane as sweet thing to eat while it’s actually got many biblical meanings:

• its shape should remind us of shepherds coming to worship Jesus,
• hardness that Jesus is our rock,
• whiteness Jesus’ purity and holiness and
• red stripes that he was real flash and blood human.

Angels symbolize messengers,
Star the star of Bethlehem,
Doves peace between God and mankind,
Light – Jesus was described as “light has come into the world”

For me Christmas is a smell of Christmas cooking at home, wearing a nice gown, dressing up the Christmas tree with my Dad, and of course Santa Clause.

I love Santa and presents he brings.

I’ve been a good girl the whole year to get them.

But I don’t know about you?

So BEEEE GOOOOODDDD otherwise E.T. may call Santa
And do you know what Santa bring to naughty kids? A packet of batteries with a note saying no toys included.

In many countries Christmas is associated with snow and cold weather but for us Australians we have Carols by Candlelight and we decorate out houses with lights and Christmas decorations, Santa’s, Reindeers and Snowmen.

I love Christmas and its spirit. I wish it could last the whole year.

But let’s not forget about the others especially, the sick and the poor ones and help each other in this lovely time of the year.

As you can see my arm got broken while I was playing at school but a broken arm cannot break the spirit of Christmas.
