As a lifelong gearhead, the Silver Champion was something I had to have.
This set came out in 2000. It's about 20 years old and still looks like something that could release today!
Since the set is older, the instructions feel a bit dated. Don't get me wrong, they are still very good. But, over the years, LEGO has done a tremendous job improving their instructions. With this set, you don't get any numbered bags. All the pieces are organized, but they are organized by piece rather than by build order. Most of the time I spent on this set was trying to find the right piece!
There is a lot of attention to detail here, both aesthetical and mechanical. It looks great and all of the features work as advertised. It's a bit of a bummer there is no figure included to put into the driver's seat. But, that's really the only complaint I have.
There was a relatively large breakdown near the end of the time lapse video. I stopped recording once I realized the fix would take a long time. See if you can spot where it happens.
Overall, the Silver Champion is absolutely incredible and something you will thoroughly love. Trust me, I'm an engineer.
