Working on a weeping fig that was chopped down to regrow for Bonsai. These Ficus benjamina are sold to be grown in office or houseplants. they are often problematic as Bonsai because they don't back bud very well and tend to have die off. not all cultivar of Ficus benjamina are like this, some back bud well. Prior to the prune, I left the tree alone to let it grow. it was well fertilizes a week or two before the hard prune. Hopefully the nutrients and stored energt will result in gokd back budding.
