In the small remote South Pacific island of Pentecost in the Vanuatu archipelago, men prove their courage by jumping into space, their survival depending solely on the vines tied to their ankles. For the children of Bunlap village, this first land diving or Nagol is a major step on the road to becoming a man.
Wabac, Sali and Telkon, our three Bunlap kids dream of doing the “head jump”: the jump from the highest point of the tower. Along with their friends, they will participate in the construction of the tower, they too want to jump. An impressive ritual on the road to become a man.
