Webster University Assistant Professor Ralph Schoellhammer says the anti-immigration protests happening in Ireland have been “long-expected” and are “absolutely justified”.
Mr Schoellhammer joined Sky News Australia host Rita Panahi to discuss the recent backlash against Ireland’s migration policies.
“We’ve seen this all going on for at least three decades, that mass migration has now been bleeding into the everyday life of people,” he said.
“We see it in the schools, Ireland has the same problem in urban areas that Austria has, where more and more schoolchildren don’t speak the local language, which means of course, that the educational attainment of the local population is also going down.
“Which means that their ability to climb the social ladder via education is also going down.”
