Three things to keep in mind about the AMT transmission.

First, it's the same basic gearbox as the manual transmission – whch means it's simple and tough. Only difference is there are motors to operate the clutch and change the gears for you.

Second – this is the most affordable form of the automatic transmission and for new drivers it's a solid tool to cut out the stress or the hassle. It's there if you want it – but we still think you should learn to drive manual. And pick an automatic if your commutes are more than an hour long – and in stop go traffic.

Third – the systems have improved a lot – like on the Glanza – earlier they weren't vey smooth or would feel scary while parking because it would engage the clutch suddenly . That is not the case here. Another problem was the head nod – a jerk felt when acclerating hard – this is still present – but that has become smoother too – and will not be a problem unless you drive on the highway a lot.
