Lt Gen Manoj Pande will take over as the next Army Chief. Pande will succeed General MM Naravane as COAS. Lt Gen Manoj Pande currently serving the Vice Chief of Army Staff since Feb 1,2022. Previously he served as the General Officer Commanding Eastern Command. He assume his office from April 30,2022. He would be the 29th Chief of Army Staff. He will also the first officer from the corps of Engineers to become the Army Chief. Tenure of Army Chief till 62 years or for three years whichever is earlier. An alumnus of the National Defence Academy and Indian Military Academy Pande was commissioned into the corps of Engineers in December 1982.
