NATO's naval task force patrolling the waters between Greece and Turkey say they have effectively reduced the number of migrant crossings in the Aegean Sea.
The navy's surveillance and monitoring operation is aimed at curbing human smuggling activities.
But there are fears that traffickers may start to use more dangerous routes.
