Two freshmen football players at University of Georgia were arrested early Tuesday morning in Athens.
FOX 5 Sports has confirmed that cornerback Chad Clay and defensive lineman Julian Rochester have been charged with having a weapon in school zone.
They were booked into jail shortly after midnight Tuesday, according to the Athens-Clarke County Sheriff’s Office.
An official with UGA said the charges are related to possession of a BB gun and property damage.
The two students appear to be roommates, with the same address listed in their booking information.
Both Clay and Rochester were released on $5,000 bond just before noon on Tuesday. FOX 5 was there when the men were released.
