We had an original run of 22 miles planned which included 26 Dartmoor tors. The day before, we checked the MOD website for any training, not expecting there to be any on a Sunday. Wrong, Okehampton and Merrivale were clear but Willsworthy firing range were in training, so we had to change the route. The new route had to include some different tors to keep our target of 26 but it increased the milage to about 25. So then we decided to extend it to a marathon distance of 26, perfect 😂

But! On the day, as always, we were distracted with additional points of interest along the route and detoured to see the 9 Stone Maidens and the Whitehorse Hill Cyst as well as a few other cairns etc. So our route increased from 22, to 25, 26 and finally over 29 miles. An incredible day exploring Dartmoor.
