Always enjoy going to see and watch the Planes Of Fame Air Museum Monthly Hangar Talk Events. They have a large collection of Aviation and Educational History in their establishment. Highly recommended for anyone to go and see their wonderful museum.
The Avenger is powered by a twin-row Wright R-2600-20 Twin Cyclone fourteen-cylinder radial engine, which produced 1,900 horsepower (1,420 kW). There were three crew members: pilot, turret gunner and radioman/bombardier/ventral gunner while in military service and used on Navy Aircraft Carriers. This particular Avenger N7835C was supposed to be assigned to the USS Franklin (CV-13) as a replacement aircraft during World War II.
The aircraft has been to many Naval Facilities since then through out the years…and was acquired by the museum in 1959. It was restored to flight in 1976.
