This is an excerpt from tonight's season finale of The Newsroom. This is exactly what I want to tell people when I am asked why, given how liberal I am, I claim myself a republican. I do not agree with everything that many believe "goes along" with being a republican, just as I agree with several things that many believe "goes along" with being a democrat. It is really unimpressive that we as a society feel the need to categorize these titles to a point that they are to be considered polar opposites from each other.
