COMMENCEMENT OF THE HERMANN LOOS AND DE SOYSA CAMPS - 2024.
On the D-Day, 02 November 2024, from the morning hours the usual tranquility of the serene environment at Rantambe was torn apart by the roaring sounds of buses carrying the best lot of girl and boy Defence Cadets in the island in this year to wage war for the two oldest trophies in the Asia; Hermann Loos and De Soysa, turning the NCC Training Centre Rantambe to a battle ground.
40 boy and 20 girl cadet platoons which have earned higher marks in the Provincial Assessment Camps have arrived after much practices and preparations with the one and only aim of winning these National Championships-2024, at Rantambe.
The NCC Training Centre Rantambe is 100% ready in every aspect and respect to welcome these giants and giantesses who have proved to be little heroes.
50 Officers including 12 Lady Officers 08 Platoon in Charge Teachers and 19 boy and 16 girl Senior Non- Commissioned Officers have reported to this annual pinnacle camp with the pride of being a privileged person to take part in this much awaited event of the year.
51 member Board of Assessment has been appointed by Brig Sudantha Fonseka USP psc Director NCC and this Board is coming under the direct supervision and direction of the Director, Inspector of Training, Colonel Training and the Commandant of the NCC Training Centre, Rantambe ensuring impartial and fair judgement and assessment through out the assessment process which is crucial to select the champions of 2024 who are going to history.
Lt Col Nilantha, Deputy Commandant of the NCC Training Centre, Mullaitivu performs duties as the Commanding Officer of this annual pinnacle camp.
The Training Conference was held in the evening hours of 02 November 2024 and the Opening Address was customarily done by the Commandant of the NCC Training Centre Rantambe in the morning hours of 03 November 2024.
The Passing Out Parade of this annual pinnacle event is scheduled to be held colourfully on 10 November 2024.
