Watch to learn more about lithium-ion battery recycling, a critical issue as we continue to explore electric vehicles, solar panels and other innovations that require energy storage.
In compliance with AB 2832, the Lithium-Ion Battery Recycling Advisory Group was formed in 2019 to advise the California legislature on policies pertaining to the recovery and recycling of lithium-ion vehicle batteries sold with motor vehicles in the state. The Group consists of several California environmental agencies, the environmental community, auto dismantlers, and representatives from manufacturing, collection, processing and recycling of electric vehicle batteries. The Group presented its final draft report of policy recommendations at its March 15 public meeting. UC Davis Professor Alissa Kendall, one of the leaders of the Group, is the featured speaker.
