In this Film Courage video, filmmaker/musician Shawn Christensen (co-writer/director of THE VANISHING OF SIDNEY HALL movie) shares how he signed with a big talent agency for writing but that experience made him see another side of the industry, a mere "Factory" churning out scripts. He doubted his ability to write and considered stopping entirely. Shawn then shares that the process of directing (first in making short films with friends with whom he felt comfortable collaborating) and then for a bigger film made him return to the love of writing for the medium and end result of filmmaking.
